HHP of Eastern NC September Meeting

Board Meeting 9-19-06
Port City Java

In Attendance: Debra Casebere, Melissa Banno, Rosalie Jacobi Hutchens, Ayako Brewer, Peggi White, Travis Reed and Dora Bumpass.

Greetings and welcome from President Debra Casebere.  First line of business, Chair Reports.

1. a. Treasurer: Rosalie reports a positive checking account balance. Expenses since last meeting: Speaker lunches (2) $27.34, Web-hosting 4th quarter $120.00.

b. Membership: Melissa reports 2 new members. Currently 40 active members. Some discussion was had about new membership, should we include web page with annual renewal. Subject was tabled for next month board members meeting agenda.

c. Communications: Peggi reports no changes with Women's Journal or Achieve Magazine.

d. Health Fairs: Travis reported a good turn out from HHP practitioners at the Nacco health fair on the 12th of September as well as participants.  What should we do with health fair intake forms Build a data base, newsletter via e-mail Lisa Curren from Spine Align may donate a lap top computer to maintain data base and e-mail newsletter (not yet confirmed). Peggi and Travis will talk with possible HHP associate to set up and maintain data base for health fair information. Also, HHP treasurer will purchase a small CD player to be used at health fairs.  Donations of CD's will be accepted for music.

e. Programs: Melissa and other board members reviewed advertising set up for newspaper article about HHP Board members with identifying name and position on the board. Free advertising for HHP with announcement of board members, more exposure to let the community no we are here.

f. Secretary: Dora reported no changes to last board meeting minutes or last membership meeting minutes.

2. Discussion of the need to e-mail all MT's asking them to share undesirable client lists with our entire MT community to help all of us to more safely screen our new clients was decided to not put any list together on paper or e-mail. Potentially dangerous legally.

3. Discussion about board officers who would like to hold another position for 2007. Agreed, Ayako & Rosalie for Treasurer. Agreed, Melissa for Membership. Agreed, Peggi for Communications.  Agreed, Travis for Health Fair coordinator. Agreed, Debra to run for Programs.

4. Each board member was asked to review own job description in order to be prepared for next years member or any upcoming election of officers. Some changes were made for Secretary delete #4. Communications: insert #7 Maintains back-up copy of Newsletter. Membership: #10 change deadline. (Mail invoices to current members by November 1st for the next year's membership dues.)

5. Next members meeting Debra will be out of Town Peggi will be running next members meeting at China 10 Restaurant on the 5th of October at 6:30 pm. Speaker David Roscoe from Vi-Quest will be talking about the importance of a healthy life style.  Next board meeting will be Tuesday, October 17th at Port City Java, 9:45 to 11:00 am
